Me enjoying a nice cold Salva Vida whilst sitting on the patio of my new place updating my blog. Life is tough, let me tell ya.I decided to not go out on the pub crawl on Friday since I had a couple rescue course dives on Saturday. Yeah, yeah; I know. But that course is absolutely whipping my ass and I didn't want to have to deal with rescue scenarios and 'panicked' divers all hungover. The wreck dive was absolutely stellar though. 110 ft. with killer viz and tons of 3 - 4 foot Nassau groupers accompanying us for a portion of the dive. I did miss however, due to being in a lecture session, the pod of dolphins giving birth the other day. Oh well.
So I moved into some new digs just up the road from my shop this morning. It makes it much easier to get to work and home with not having to travel 5 km and relying on my friend to pick me up or take me to work in the morning. I really appreciate the fact she was letting me stay there but the money I'll save in eating out every day and cabs/water taxis more than makes up for the cost of the place I rented. Plus I can buy two weeks worth of groceries for 1200 lempiras (about $60) and have breakfast, lunch, and dinner at home when it costs about 100 limps to eat one meal out. Score. It's a great little place that's fully furnished, has a beautiful tropical garden for a yard, and is literally a 5 minute walk to the shop.
Tomorrow is the last day of rescue training and then I'll officially be a DMT (divemaster trainee). We have confined water skills in the morning and then two training dives at 11 and 2 followed by the exam and then I'll be a certified rescue diver. Excellent. I haven't had the chance to get the pictures from the wreck dive from Alex but I'll get on that tomorrow and will post them soon. I should probably get back to filling out the remaining knowledge reviews for the rescue course so I can actually get certed tomorrow. I'll be taking my laptop to the shop daily since there's wireless there and my new place has a rocking connection as well so I'll be posting more frequently from here on out.
Later.
